Jewellery Beginners Saturday 2025

A Beginner is someone with no experience or limited experience.

COURSE OUTLINE
This exciting jewellery course will introduce you to the hands on world of jewellery manufacturing. Beginners will be taught the basics of making a piece from beginning to end in silver. You will learn to smelt your metal, shape and bend the metal, solder, file, sand and polish.

Beginner's make a ring to acquire foundational skills. Beginners can make a pendant for a follow up course or a bangle or more creative rings.

The fee includes the use of the School’s facilities and tools, but not consumable materials and silver.  A starter tool kit is available from the Lecturer at R380.00. Please bring cash to pay the lecturer directly.

This course excludes working in gold, setting stones and casting.

Steve is a metalsmith and jeweler driven by a desire to explore techniques and unleash creativity. With a fusion of texture and imagery, Steve adds a vibrant narrative, igniting intrigue and fascination into his work

An intermediate who could engage in individual projects would have completed at least 2 beginner courses and have made a ring, pendant or a bangle.

If you have registered and your payment has been accepted by the site, you have been accepted to the class and will be added to our class register.
The response from the site is your proof of registration and we look forward to seeing you on the first day and time of the class at RPSA.
If no payment is accepted, we regret that the class is full.
